ZESCO United sign three foreign players

ZESCO United Football Club has announced the conclusion of the players transfer business with the signing of three foreign players to bolster the team ahead of the CAF Champions league and the 2016 FAZ MTN Premier League season.

The Ndola based side has acquired the services of Kenyan international Anthony Akumu Agay a defensive midfielder formerly of Al Khartoum of Sudan, his fellow countryman Jesse Jackson Were a striker formerly of Tusker FC and Ivorian defender Ben Adama Banh the former captain of Guinea side AS Kaloum.

According to a statement posted on the ZESCO United website monitored by QFM Sports, the 2015 league champions have also acquired the service of Green Eagles left winger Mwila Phiri on a yearlong loan deal.

All the new players have since made the 26 man list the league champions have submitted to CAF for the 2016 Champions league.

ZESCO United has also released some players among them former Chipolopolo winger Clifford Mulenga after failing to impress the technical bench during his three months spell and Nigerian striker Christopher Chigozie.

Former Chipolopolo winger Jonas Sakuwaha has gone back to TP Mazembe following the expiry of his loan deal, while Tanzanian international Juma Liuzio will be loaned out.

Chishimba Changala has also returned to Nkwazi following the expiry of his loan deal, while innocent Mwaba has made a permanent move to Forest Rangers.
