UPND members demand legal action against PF SG

UPND Members have petitioned party Secretary General Steven Katuka to take legal action against PF Secretary General Davies Chama, some media houses and individuals reporters for defaming party leader Hakainde Hichilema.

This follows stories carried by some media houses alleging that the UPND Leader castigated Chieftainess Choongo of Monze district for welcoming and interacting with Mr.Chama in Bemba.

Briefing journalists in Lusaka this morning, UPND Deputy Secretary General Captain Walusiku Lyambela says the party membership has decided to petition Mr. Katuka to take legal action against Mr. Chama because they feel he is a great danger to national peace and stability.

She says the actions of Mr. Chama and the media houses carrying certain stories are provocative and an abuse of the public media.

Captain Lyambela says the party membership is ready to defend their Leader and put to an end the continued tormenting of Mr. Hichilema under the PF leadership.

She states that the UPND membership feels their leader is being harassed by the PF Government.
