The opposition political parties have been challenged to state their position over the petition by Heritage Party Leader Godfrey Miyanda urging President Edgar Lungu not to sign the adopted constitution bill.

Governance Activist Maurice Malambo has explained to QFM News in an interview that the silence by most vocal opposition political party leaders shows that they really do not want the Head of State to sign the bill.

Mr. Malambo has challenged the opposition UPND, MMD, NAREP, FDD and Rainbow Party among others to give their opinion over the petition saying otherwise people will think that they are with General Miyanda.

He says these are the people who were vocal on having a new constitution and that after parliament passed the clauses that were taken to the House they are quiet in fear of certain clauses.

And Mr. Malambo has praised President Lungu for exhibiting an extra ordinary commitment to delivering a new constitution saying he has done a good job with his eleven months of being in office.
