Create jobs for yourselves, youths urged

Former Ministry of Youth and Sport Permanent Secretary, Teddy Mulonga has encouraged young people in the country to form cooperatives as a way of creating job opportunities for themselves.

Mr. Mulonga says youths should rise to the occasion and create employment for themselves instead of depending on government.

He notes that a lot of youths are losing out on skills development because they prefer white collar jobs.

Mr. Mulonga states that skills development will not only help youths contribute to national development, but will also help them stand on their own.

Mr. Mulonga says youths should work together through cooperatives by bring together their various skills expertise.

He stresses that waiting for the government to create jobs is not a solution to their challenges.
