Three people from the same family have died in a road accident while seven others sustained injuries after a Toyota Regius registration number ALJ 7302 they were travelling in driven by Dickson Masangu 38 had a rear tire burst along the Serenje – Mansa road in Chitambo District.
Central Province Deputy Police Commissioner Yobe Luhana has confirmed the development to ZANIS in Chitambo that the accident happened at Mukando area at around 14:00hrs yesterday.
Mr. Luhana has named the deceased as Rachael Manjolo 27, Tisa whose other names are unknown and one male juvenile Ethen Masangu aged 6 months.
He says it is touching for people of the same family to die in one accident and has advised people to avoid unnecessary movements during this festive season and make sure they adhere to traffic rules.
Mr. Luhana has further advised motorists to avoid wrong overtaking and stop the habit of drinking and driving as this is contributing to high fatalities on the roads.
