The Zambian Voice says government must be commended for the way that it has handled the economic challenges that the country has been facing.

Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says government implemented certain policies at a short notice which made things a little bit better than the way it would have been had government not implemented certain measures.
He cites that the adjusting of bank balances and the interest rates, the importation of electricity to cushion the massive load shedding as some of the policies that have helped the government to contain the pressure of the economic challenges.
Mr. Tayali says much as 2015 has been a tough year, they appreciate the efforts that government has made in trying to address the situations.
He however notes that 2016 being a year in which the presidential and general elections will be held, it is expected that the year will be a challenging year as politicians now will be making decisions meant to please the people and not genuine decisions.
Mr. Tayali has thus advised politicians to be real and do things in the interest of the people of the people of Zambia and not because they want to remain or ascend to power.
