President Lungu wants proper management of land

President Edgar Lungu has directed the Ministry of Local Government and Housing to work in close collaboration with the royal establishment in land administration.

President Lungu says illegal land acquisition has affected the country’s development and hence the need to address it.

The president said this when he paid a courtesy call on senior Chieftainess Nkomesha Mukambo II.

And Chieftainess Nkomesha says her people are worried about the poor rainfall citing that they are hesitant to plant not knowing if the rains will come.

She also expressed concern about the e vouchers system citing that some farmers are still having a few challenges with them but however hopeful that they will be addressed.

Meanwhile President Lungu also toured Chongwe market and also visited Chongwe District Hospital.

And Chongwe district hospital has recorded 8 Christmas babies among them five boys and 3 girls.

Earlier the Head of State visited and donated assorted goods at mother Teresa Hospice and interacted with tuberculosis and HIV patients as well as children.

President Lungu says Christmas is about sharing the love of God and reminded them that God loves them and was born for them.

And Mother Teresa Sister-in-Charge Sister Rebecca asked for blessings from the president and appealed to him to help with a way of cleaning the cabbage behind the hospice.

And during his visit to Mtendere police post, President Lungu says human rights of the people in prison should be respected even though they are in prison.

And Mtendere officer in charge Raphael Moono highlighted the challenges that the police post is facing as the lack of accommodation for the officers, inadequate manpower, lack of transport and the need to rehabilitate the cells and the office blocks.
