NCC developing Labour Intensive Technologies policy

The National Council for Construction (NCC) has formally begun the process of developing a draft policy for Labour Intensive Technologies for the Country’s construction sector.

NCC Executive Director Charles Mushota says his council with the help of the World Bank has to this effect hired an expert, who will come up with green paper and later a draft policy.

In an interview with Qfm News Mr. Mushota has disclosed that the draft policy will have to be approved by all stakeholders in the construction sector before being brought before government.

Mr. Mushota has explained that the policy is meant to mainstream labour intensive technologies in the construction sector.

He says this is particularly that many construction projects in the Country are labour intensive in nature but mostly uses mechanized technologies.
