Government has warned public health workers in the country against charging expectant mothers for them to use health facilities to deliver.

Health Deputy Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya says there is no such policy in the healthy sector that requires expectant mother to pay a fee for them to use public health institutions to deliver.

Dr. Chilufya says anyone found wanting will face the wrath of the law.

Dr. Chilufya has explained to QFM News via telephone that reproductive health services are free from primary health level up to the delivery period.

He states that government will not allow health personnel to collect money from expectant mothers because government policy is clear on such matters.

The Health Deputy Minister has since disclosed that government will investigate such reports as they are beyond the government policy.
