FFTUZ asks govt to settle outstanding arrears owed to workers

The Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) has called on the government to settle all outstanding arrears owed to workers as the year 2015 comes to an end.

And the trade union has noted some positives recorded in the labour sector such as the lifting of the wage and employment freeze by government.

FFTUZ National Women’s Chairperson Charity Kampamba says it is worrying that most workers have not been paid various outstanding allowances by government.

She has since implored government to strive to settle these outstanding allowances before the year comes to end.

Ms. Kampamba says it is hoped that government will starting next year pay attention to issues affecting workers in the country.
