ZCF urges promotion of agro processing in rural areas

The Zambia Cooperatives Federation (ZCF) has stressed the need for the country to promote Agro processing activities in rural areas.

ZCF Director General James Chirwa says this is in order for the rural population to benefit from the agricultural development.

Mr. Chirwa says development should be all inclusive, adding urban areas have already received more development than the rural parts of the country.

He stresses that rural areas have huge potential to contribute to the development of the country if people in those areas there are accorded the opportunity to participate in the development of the nation.

Mr. Chirwa adds that agriculture development will only be sustainable if the rural areas are fully involved.
