President Lungu to commission 330KV Pensulo-Kasama ZESCO line

President Edgar Lungu is tomorrow expected in Northern Province to commission the 381 km 330KV Pensulo-Kasama electricity transmission line.

ZESCO Spokesperson Henry Kapata has told QFM News that the $153 million project will increase the power transfer capacity and quality of supply to the three provinces of Nothern,Luapula and Muchinga provinces.

Mr. Kapata says increased economic activity in the three provinces meant demanding had increased therefore necessitating the upgrading of the 66KV transmission line to 330KV.

He adds that the transmission line will also increase international electricity trading with the East African Power Pool and the Southern African Power pool.
