Eight out of ten of the country’s provinces were last night plunged into total darkness following a system disturbance at Kariba North Bank power station.
Only Southern and Western provinces remained with electricity as they are supplied by Victoria Fall power station.
ZESCO Spokesperson Henry Kapata says electricity supply has been restored to Copperbelt,Lusaka, north western and central provinces.
Mr. Kapata adds that investigations are continuing to ascertain what caused the system disturbance.
