UPND in Central province accuse PF of giving underage NRCs

The opposition UPND in Central Province has accused the ruling PF of issuing National Registration Cards to underage persons.

UPND Central Province Information and Publicity Secretary Victor Simpito has told QFM News via telephone that the case in point is in Serenje where Central Province Minister Davies Chisopa working with Serenje District Commissioner are alleged ton have organized some underage youths and issued them with NRCs and voters cards.

Mr. Simpito says the UPND officials stormed the Serenje District Council Chamber after being tipped by members of the public and indeed found underage youths being issued with NRCs and Voters Cards.

He says the officer who was issuing the NRCs only identified as Mr. Kalumba said the instructions came from the Serenje District Commissioner and that the youths were organized from nearby villages.
