GAWUZ bemoan challenges faced by gemstone mine owners

Gemstones and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (GAWUZ) President Sifuniso Banda bemoaned the difficulties Gemstone mine owners are facing in accessing loans from banks and other lending institutions.

He has since appealed to the Government to help create an enabling environment for Gemstone and other small scale mines to access loans from banking institutions.

Mr. Banda notes that once the Small Scale Mines are able to access loans from lending institutions, it will help create an enabling environment for the mines to thrive.

Mr. Banda adds that easy access to loans by Gemstone and other Small Scale Mines will further enable Government generate revenues as well as create jobs for the local people.
