Older politicians advised against sidelining young politicians

Older politicians have been advised against discouraging youths from taking up the leadership mantle if Zambia’s political future is to be secured.

Lusaka based politician Patrick Mungo is concerned that older politicians are currently sidelining youths from fully participating in the Country’s political landscape.

Mr. Mungo has however wondered how youths will be prepared to take up the leadership mantle if they are being stopped from realizing their potentials.

He says for the fact that in the next 20 years it will not be the current crop of older politicians that will rule the Country, it is important that youths are encouraged to fully participate in politics.

Mr. Mungo states that now is the right time to start building a cadre of youths that will take over from the current crop of politicians.
