OYV delighted its voter education is yielding results

The Operation Young Vote (OYV) is delighted its civic and voter education through its Lembe Sani Ma Vote, Be on Point Campaign is yielding results.

OYV Executive Director Guess Nyirenda says his organization has taken note that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has captured more than 1.2 million voters in the ongoing countrywide mobile voter registration exercise whose target is 1.7 million new voters.

Mr. Nyirenda says the OYV now know that with civic and voter education campaign efforts the ECZ will meet its 1.7 million target.

He states that his organization is thus grateful to the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the USAID as these are partners that have enabled it to conduct civic and voter education in 8 provinces.

Mr. Nyirenda says with the support of NDI and the USAID the OYV will in the next 4 days precede to the remaining two provinces which are Luapula and Muchinga provinces.

He says the intention of his organization is to ensure that each and every eligible citizen registers as voter and participates in the Country’s democratic dispensation.
