CCPC counsels farmers

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has urged consumers of agro inputs such as small scale farmers in Zambia to be wary of unscrupulous traders this farming season.

CCPC Public Relations Manager Hanford Chaaba says there are some unscrupulous traders who are in the habit of selling counterfeit and substandard seeds and agro chemicals.

Mr. Chaaba says the CCPC is advising farmers to take responsibility and always ensure that they constantly check the labeling on the product before they buy.

He says this will also help in curbing scourges of unfair trading that border on misleading conduct, selling of expired products, displaying of disclaimers and others.
