NAMSSC calls on govt to be cautious over upcoming Copperbelt projects

The National Association for Medium and Small Scale Contractors (NAMSSC) has called on government to be cautious when giving contracts for the upcoming major projects on the Copperbelt.

Association President Mutale Mpepo says government should ensure it engages his association to help identify local contractors on the Copperbelt with the capacity to carryout works of such magnitude.

Mr. Mpepo has since expressed confidence that when these contracts are given out, there is no doubt that some people who have lost jobs in the mining sector will be employed by the contractors for sustainability.

He has also praised President Lungu for directing relevant authorities to ensure that the contracts for the earmarked major contracts on the Copperbelt are given to local contractors.
