Political players in Monze advised against dragging chiefs in politics

The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Monze District has called on political players in the country not to drag traditional leaders into politics.

PF Monze District Chairman Gilbert Mwila says suggestions that some chiefs are bitter with the ruling party in Monze District are misleading.
Mr Mwila says the ruling party is enjoying cordial relations with chiefs in the district.

He says as a matter of fact, the party always seeks the counsel of the traditional leadership which has been receptive.

Mr. Mwila adds that Chiefs in Southern Province as a whole have been welcoming to all people regardless of their political affiliation.

PF Monze District Chairman says it is therefore important that chiefs are not dragged into active politics because of the important role they play in uniting the people.
