Government has procured twenty seven (27) dredging machines to be distributed across the country.
Transport and Communications Minister Kapembwa Simbao has told Parliament in a ministerial statement today that the procured machines include ten multipurpose dredgers, five weed harvesters, five cutter suction dredgers and five amphibious excavator dredgers.

He says the dredgers will be distributed to Luapula, Western, Northern, Muchinga, North Western, Copperbelt, Eastern and Central provinces.
Mr Simbao says government has also procured six water vessels to operate on Lakes Bangweulu, Mweru and Tanganyika and the Zambezi rover.
He adds that government further procured two cargo vessels to operate on lakes Mweru and Bangweulu.
