Sustainability of Mines needs to be renegotiated – ZFE

The Zambia Federation of Employers (ZFE) says the sustainability of mining companies needs to be renegotiated.

ZFE President Tyson Chisambo says in view of the challenges the country is facing, government should look at ways of improving the employment social protection, stating that this has worked well in other countries.

Mr. Chisambo says there is no way that the mines can continue to operate at loses and sustain their operations.

He notes that there is need for the government, mining companies and the unions to put their heads together to see how best the mining companies can sustain their operations.

Mr. Chisambo states that it is only through dialogue that the country will have a win-win situation for both the government and the mining companies.
