MUZ working to protect miners’ jobs

The Mineworkers’ Union of Zambia (MUZ) says it is still engaging the mines and other stakeholders to ensure that job losses are averted at Baluba and Mopani Copper Mines.

MUZ President Chishimba Nkole says his union has engaged Mopani to look at other options other than the retrenchment of workers with the view of cutting down ON COSTS of its mining operations amidst the prevailing economic challenges in the Country.

Mr. Nkole says his union is also engaging Government as the major stakeholder over the issues that Mines are advancing if they are to sustain their mining operations.
