UPND Vice President for Political Affairs Canisius Banda has observed the need for Zambia to come up with serious policy reforms to prevent the Agriculture sector from collapse.

Dr. Banda is concerned that under the PF government the Agriculture sector appears to be in a precarious state.

He has cited the continued delay in the distribution of farming inputs such as fertilizer by government as some of the regrettable tendencies that might lead to collapse of the Country’s Agriculture sector.

And Dr. Banda is saddened by the alleged revelation that 41 percent of the Zambian children’s growth is stunted.

Dr. Banda thinks that such a high percentage rate of malnourished children is alarming to have for a developing Country like Zambia.

He says this is because stunted growth contributes to reduced levels of Intelligence Quotient (IQ) in children.

Dr. Banda states that what is however unfortunate of this fact is that Children who are malnourished and have lower IQ levels become violent when they grow up into adults.
