State House has dismissed as unfair insinuations that the outcome of the Solwezi West Parliamentary by-election is a sign that President Edgar Lungu has been rejected in North Western Province.

UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma has been reported to have alleged that his party won the Solwezi West Parliamentary seat because people are upset with unfulfilled PF government promises in the Province.

But the President’s Special Assistant for Project Monitoring and Implementation Lucky Mulusa has observed that such an insinuation is wrongly conceived.

Mr. Mulusa says this is because President Lungu has in fact been fulfilling most of the promises that were made to the people of North Western Province.

He has named the ongoing rehabilitation of the Solwezi –Chingola dual carriageway Road and the construction of other township roads in the province are some of the promises that are being fulfilled.

Mr. Mulusa notes that the declaration of Kalumbila and Mushindano into Districts is another fulfilled promise made to the people of North Western Province.

He has told Qfm News in an interview that this is why he finds it unfair that some people could insinuate that President Lungu is being rejected for not taking development to the Province.

Mr. Mulusa thinks that there could be other reason why the ruling PF may have performed in the manner it did to lose the Solwezi West Parliamentary by-election.

He believes that the reason that will given for ruling PF’s loss in by-election will therefore have nothing to do with President Lungu’s taking development to North Western Province or not.
