OYV impressed by enthusiasms of youths to register as voters

Operation Young Vote (OYV) is impressed with the enthusiasm of young people to register as voters in the ongoing voter registration exercise.

OYV President Guess Nyirenda says a number of young people have been flocking to various registration centers to register as voters since the exercise begun last week on Monday.

Mr. Nyirenda notes that this is a good indication that young people are interested in acquiring voter’s cards.

Meanwhile Mr. Nyirenda has appealed to the Department of National Registration to emulate the Electoral Commission of Zambia by speeding up the process of issuing National Registration Cards.

He has expressed concern that at the pace the mobile issuance of NRC’s is moving, it will be difficult for the ministry of home affairs to meet its target of issuing 1,075,000 people with NRC’s by the end of the exercise..
