Hollywood Wives novelist had been battling breast cancer for six-and-a-half years
JACKIE Collins has passed away aged 77, following a battle with breast cancer.
The novelist’s family confirmed the news in a statement overnight.
“It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, dynamic and one-of-a-kind mother,” it read.
During her 40-year career, Joan Collins‘ younger sister sold more than 500million books.
Her novels were known for their erotic scenes and included Hollywood Wives and The Bitch.
“She was a true inspiration, a trailblazer for women in fiction and a creative force. She will live on through her characters but we already miss her beyond words,” the statement added.
British born, Jackie had been living in LA when she passed away, having been diagnosed with breast cancer six-and-a-half years ago.
Speaking of the diagnosis, Joan, 82, commented: “I admire how she handled this. She was a wonderful, brave and a beautiful person and I love her.”
