TIZ impressed with Lungu’s stance on corruption

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has encouraged the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to work hard saying President Lungu has given them latitude to deal with corruption cases without fear or favor.

President Lungu in his inaugural State of the Nation address during the ceremonial opening of the fifth session of the eleventh National Assembly said he will not protect anyone from being investigated by the ACC.

But TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu has told QFM News that President Lungu should go a step further by dismissing whoever is entangled in corruption acts.

Mr. Lungu says his organization welcomes the pronouncement by the Head of State saying that solid statement may go a long way in fighting corruption in the country.

He states that President Lungu will do well when he discovers that any controlling officer is been investigated by ACC to dismiss that officer until cleared by law enforcement agencies.
