Ofstad optimistic Zambia’s democracy may remain healthy

Norwegian Ambassador to Zambia Arve Ofstad has observed that Zambia will remain a healthy democracy as long as President Edgar Lungu continues to preach unity.

Mr. Ofstad says President Lungu’s call for the opposition and the ruling party to work together for the sole purpose of promoting democracy is a very constructive move.

He says he is happy to note that Zambia is trying to consolidate its democratic foundation.

President Lungu during his State of the Nation address emphasized the need for the opposition and the ruling party to work together in building the country’s democracy.
