Lungu tells Diplomats accredited to Zambia to act as linkages for investment

Republican President Edgar Lungu has encouraged foreign investors to set up business centers in the country saying the environment is conducive for investment.

President Lungu says government appreciates the technical support offered by various countries in agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, manufacturing, tourism and other sectors.

President Lungu has appealed to potential investors from Iran to consider investing in alternative energy sources in view of the current power deficit in Zambia.

He says Zambia is also ready to learn from Iran’s irrigation expertise in the agriculture sector.

The Head of State said this at State House today when he received credentials from Ambassadors and High Commissioners from Italy, Greece, Spain, Iran, Pakistan and Israel.

And President Lungu has called on the new Ambassadors and High Commissioners to act as linkages in bringing investment in the country.

The Head of State has also called on the international community to increase their contribution in various portfolios in major sectors.
