Islamic council urges Zambian Muslims to obtain NRCs

Islamic Supreme Council of Zambia President, Suzyo Zimba has urged the Muslim Community in the country to obtain National Registration Cards (NRCs) and register as voters for the 2016 General Election.

Mr. Zimba says it is unfortunate that Muslims in Zambia are viewed as foreigners when some of them are Zambians and are eligible to vote.

He says the Muslim Community is part and parcel of the country’s governance system and thus the need for them to obtain NRCs and register as voters in large numbers.

Mr Zimba tells QFM News that he believes the Muslim Community can contribute positively to the development of the nation by participating in the election of leaders.
