The opposition People’s Party (PP) says it is wishful thinking to assume ruling the PF will win the 2016 general elections when indicators are suggesting it has underperformed.

People Party President Mike Mulongoti is advising the ruling PF against fooling itself that it will go beyond 2016 in government.

Mr. Mulongoti says the ruling PF should realize that the Zambian people have come to realize that their votes were wasted when they voted for it in the 2011 general elections.

He thinks that it is impossible for the ruling party to go beyond 2016 because of the high cost of living in the country has also gone up.

Mr. Mulongoti says this is besides the undemocratic tendencies that are allegedly being perpetrated by the PF government.

He says his party the PP is however promising the Zambian people significant improvement in key sectors of the economy if voted in government in 2016.

Mr. Mulongoti has listed security, power, education, road, and health as some of the areas in the economy his party will work on once voted in government.

He spoke in an interview with Qfm News by telephone.
