ZACA hails tansfer of shares to IDC

The Zambia Consumers Association (ZACA) has commended President Edgar Lungu for transferring all Parastatal shares to the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).

ZaCA Acting Executive Secretary Juba Sakala has since encouraged all well meaning citizens to support the move by President Lungu.

Mr Sakala says the move may help in addressing some of the challenges the country is currently facing.

He has recommended that half of the initial $500million the IDC is expected to raise on the stock market to invest in the energy sector other related infrastructure development be strictly invested in thermal power generation and the rest in Agriculture sector as way of diversifying the economy.

Mr Juba notes that the agriculture sector if placed at the center stage can help boost the economy and make the country earn the much needed foreign exchange.

He further states that as ZACA they expect prudent management of the said resources by the IDC so that the transfer of parastatal shares to the IDC can bear fruit.
