THPAZ applaunds govt for Bill to regulate traditional healers

The Traditional Health Practitioners Association of Zambia (THPAZ) has applauded the government for coming up with a Bill to regulate and control traditional healers in the country.

THAZ President Rodwell Vongo says the association has been waiting for this bill for over 35 years, and therefore the PF Government deserves commendation for the move.

Dr Vongo says his association has been engaging successive governments to present this bill to Parliament and that they are happy that finally Cabinet has approved it.

He has explained to QFM News in an interview that the introduction of this bill will enhance ethical norms of traditional practitioners.

Dr Vongo adds that the bill will also protect Zambians from fraudulent traditional health practitioners who are there to only make money.

Cabinet on Monday approved the Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicines Bill of 2015 that will promote, control and regulate traditional, complementary and Alternative medicines practitioners.
