HH feels vindicated

UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says the extent of the challenges facing the country attest to his 2012 observation that the ruling Patriotic Front came into government without a plan.

Mr. Hichilema says the PF government has demonstrated lack of capacity to run affairs of the country.

He says this lack of leadership allegedly being exhibited by the PF government is as if the leaders that were voted in office have now absconded from governing.

Speaking at a media briefing this morning, Mr. Hichilema says life under the PF government has simply beHakainde_Hichilemacome unbearable with the high cost of living.

Mr. Hichilema notes that this is given the continued depreciation of the Kwacha and increased load shedding.

He has warned that the continued depreciation of the Kwacha means that hard times are yet to come.

He adds that Zambia’s food security is now at risk owing to the amount of maize farmers are exporting because the Food Reserve Agency is failing to buy maize from them.

Mr. Hichilema says he also foresees more job losses as a result of some Mines closing up or opting place the mines on care and maintenance due to the increased load shedding.

He says the blame of the challenges Zambia is going through should not on the other hand be directed at President Edgar Lungu because he has already admitted that he lacks a vision.

The UPND president suspects that President Lungu is in fact overwhelmed being Head of State because he never thought he would become republican President.

He says President Lungu can however cure the Kwacha if he concentrates on the production side of the economy and reverse the current manner he is allegedly running the country on expenditure and consumption.

Mr. Hichilema has also advised President Lungu to stop borrowing unnecessarily and cut down travelling.
