Extend a hand to opposition- ZCID calls on govt

The Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue (ZCID) has called on the PF government to be open enough and extend a hand to the opposition and other stakeholders in finding alternative solutions to the current economic challenges.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando has explained to QFM News via telephone that the current challenges are serious that require concerted efforts in finding lasting solutions.

Mr. Chilando says the opposition political parties at this stage are not expected to politicize everything but help in coming up with solutions.

He says this is not the time for the opposition to start gain political mileage over the current economic hardships but rather sit down with the party in government and see how they can work together.

He adds that the people at the moment are looking up to political leaders to come to their rescue by coming up with workable ideas.

Mr. Chilando says no genuine politician can be happy to see his own country going down and sit back and blame the party in government instead of helping out.

The ZCID Executive Director has since advised the PF government to embrace ideas suggested by concerned stakeholders if the country is to survive the current situation.

And governance Activist Maurice Malambo says this is not the time for the opposition to start finger pointing that the economic hardships are caused by the party in power.

Mr. Malambo has told QFM News in a walk in interview that it is worrying that the opposition political parties are busy castigating the PF instead of helping them with ideas.

He says at this time, there is need for all people to come together and find means and ways of coming out of this adversity.

Mr. Malambo has since encouraged the church to work as a bridge in bringing together the opposition and the ruling party so that they can work together during this ordeal.
