Zambia Striker Collins Mbesuma says he is not feeling any pressure ahead of Sunday’s game against Kenya.

The Mpumalanga Black Aces striker is expected to end his 12-month exile from the Zambia national team this weekend in the 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifier.

“I am just going there to play my game,” Mbesuma said.

“I have been in football for a long time and I know how to handle pressure. “Football is my career. I will do my best to help the team.”

Mbesuma is the longest-serving striker in the traveling party in Nairobi.

He will be vying for a place in the starting XI against Zesco United’s duo of Winston Kalengo and Jackson Mwanza, who have been in the Zambia setup for less than a year, including new boy Friday Samu of Green Buffaloes.

Mbesuma has not played for Zambia since September 10, 2014 in a 2-1 away defeat to Cape Verde in a 2015 Africa Cup qualifying match.

He was subsequently dropped by then coach Honour Janza for the remainder of the 2015 Africa Cup qualifiers together with other veteran players like 2012 Afcon winning captain Christopher Katongo and striker Jacob Mulenga.

Mulenga was recalled together with Mbesuma for the trip to Kenya but declined the invitation.
