Government through the Ministry of Mines has been called upon to come up with a Statutory Instrument to compel all mining companies to stop exporting copper in blister forms.

Political Activist Patrick Mungo says by now all mining companies are fully aware that they are supposed to be exporting copper in cathodes.

Mr. Mungo recalls that the late Republican President Michael Sata was instrumental about ensuring that all mining companies export copper in cathodes unlike what is happening now.

He explains that when these mining companies are allowed to export copper in blister forms, the country is loosing money in terms of revenue.

Mr. Mungo, who is also Munali Constituency Aspiring Member of Parliament, has since implored government to come up with a legislation that will see to it that all mining companies start to export copper in cathode forms so that the country can get some taxes from the exports.
