Movement of radioactive materials needs strict monitoring measures- Siwila

Radiation Protection Authority (RPA) Executive Director Boster Siwila says the movement of radioactive materials in the country needs strict monitoring measures.

Mr. Siwila has tells QFM News that this is considering that Zambia is a transit country which foreign companies use to transport these radioactive materials.

And Mr. Siwila says there is need to have qualified personnel to handle X-Ray machines so that the health of patients is not put at risk.

He has also advised members of the public to avoid seeking x-ray services from institution that do not have radiation licenses saying they are risking their lives.
