Ndhlovu backs calls for Lungu to hold a press conference

Former Deputy Minister of transport and communication in the Fredrick Chiluba administration Alfred Ndhlovu has echoed calls for President Edgar Lungu to hold a press conference on the challenges facing the country.

Mr. Ndhlovu says the President has the responsibility to explain to the nation how he intends to address these challenges.

He says it is not right for the Head of State to opt to remain quite on the pressing issues the country is faced with.

Mr. Ndhlovu says the people of Zambia are struggling to meet the cost of living which has tripled.

Mr. Ndhlovu adds that President Lungu should not wait for the official opening of Parliament to address the nation on the state of affairs.
