A political analyst has expressed concern with the kind of politics prevailing in Zambia which he says lacks respect for tenets of democracy.
Dr Alex Ng’oma who is President of the Intellectual Forum Institute of Zambia (IFIZ) notes that there is a lack of respect for democratic tenets which include respect for divergent views, discussion of issues and providing solutions to challenges.
He states that need to offer solutions as opposed to merely condemning others for the prevailing problems.
Dr Ng’oma has called on political leaders to demonstrate leadership by reverting to discussing issues, providing solutions and respecting each other’s views and not attacking personalities.
He says there is need to understand what democracy is in order for Zambia to be a true democracy.
