Zambia midfielder Chisamba Lungu says it will be inexcusable not to pick up the three points in Nairobi this Sunday.

Zambia face Kenya on September 6 away in a 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifier.

Group E is all square will Kenya, Zambia, Congo-Brazzaville and Guinea-Bissau all on one point each after playing their opening qualifying matches last June.

Zambia were held 0-0 at home on June 13 by Guinea Bissau while Kenya finished 1-1 away in Brazzaville 24 hours later.

“We have to work on our weaknesses which we saw in the game against Guinea Bissau,” Chisamba said.

“We are definitely going to qualify to the Africa Cup, Zambia is one of the best teams in the Southern region; we are a well-organised side.

“We have to stay focused, this is the time to collect maximum points, and we don’t have to start doing calculations at the last minute.

“We are going to Kenya to collect maximum points, no two ways about it.”

The midfielder from Russian Premiership club FC Ural was one of the first 12 foreign-based call-ups to join Zambia’s camp in Lusaka on Monday.

A victory for Zambia this weekend will potentially put them in command of Group E before the qualifiers resume next March.
