AVAP hails Lubansenshi peaceful campaigns

The Anti- Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) has hailed the generally peaceful conduct of campaigns by political players ahead of the Lubansenshi parliamentary by-election which will be held on 24th September.

AVAP Executive Director Richwell Mulwani has told Qfm News that this is despite a few complaints against certain political parties pertaining to how they are conducting themselves.

Mr Mulwani says one such complaint relates to an incident some members of the opposition Rainbow Party were found in possession of a gun.

Mr. Mulwani states that his organization is concerned that this development is a serious threat to democracy and good governance.

He says AVAP is therefore reminding political parties that carrying weapons during campaigns is wrong and a threat to peace and instills fear in electorates.
