Opposition political parties say President Edgar Lungu should not run away from his responsibilities of managing the country’s economy.

Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says it is wrong for President Lungu to blame the challenges the country on global economic forces.

And UPND Deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo says while some economic challenges the country is facing are as a result of the global challenges, the President should address those caused by poor policy implementation.

Mr. Lifwekelo points out that the high fuel prices, load shedding, high cost of living among others are not as a result of global challenges, but due to poor policy implementation by the PF Government.

And Rainbow Party Spokesperson Goodson Banda says the best thing President Lungu can do is to call for early elections considering that he has failed to deal with all challenges in the country.

Meanwhile, Fourth Revolution President Erick Chanda says the people are interested to know what practical measures the PF Government has put in place in dealing with the economic challenges facing the country.
