The Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) says the establishment of milling plants across the country by the Zambia Cooperative Federation (ZCF) with support from government will not affect the market share of existing milling companies.
In an interview with QFM News, Millers Association of Zambia President Allan Sakala says the move will instead compliment the efforts of the existing milling plants.
Mr Sakala says milling companies have been facing challenges to reach out to the rural areas.
He also notes that the setting up of milling plants in the rural areas will help reduce the cost of mealie meal.
