The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has offered to reconcile the opposition political parties and the ruling party ahead of the 2016 General Election.
EFZ Executive Director Reverend Pukuta Mwanza says the opposition political Parties in the country are ready, but that the ruling party seems not prepared to meet with the with other parties to iron out their differences.
Reverend Mwanza has observed that a commitment by the ruling Patriotic Front to attend the reconciliatory meeting will be a step in the right direction.
He notes that says there is need for Politicians in the country to meet and discuss peace-building and political conflict that has rocked the country.
He says the Church has been empowering politicians with peace building capacities as a way of reconciling them.
Reverend Mwanza says there is need for more concerted efforts towards comprehensive national healing and reconciliation, but that this has been limited owing to a non-conducive environment.
