FDD Copperbelt joins 2016 campaigns

The opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) on the Copperbelt has joined campaigns for the 2016 tripartite elections.

FDD provincial Chairperson Yotam Mtayachalo says follows early campaigns embarked on by the ruling PF and the UPND.

Mr. Mtayachalo says the ruling party has set a bad precedent by embarking on early campaigns, and that the opposition has no option but follow suit.

He says by announcing President Edgar Lungu’s candidature for 2016, the ruling party was actually telling its members to start selling the candidature of Mr Lungu.

Mr. Mtayachalo says the opposition FDD has been left without any option but join the early campaigns and avoid being left alone.
