YALI denies being funded by Govt

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has dismissed assertions that its perceived lukewarm criticism of government is because it receives part of its funding from the government.

In an interview with Qfm News, Mr. Mwanza says it is therefore unfortunate if there some section of society assuming that his organization’s comments or criticism of government has strings attached.

Mr. Mwanza has made an assurance that in making comments YALI endeavors at always following what the law prescribes.

He says this is why when his organization comes to the realization that it has erred in its comments, it quickly changes its position.

Mr. Mwanza notes this is always done on principle and reading what is correct.

He states that it for this reason that it cannot be true that an organization like YALI can be bought by government to speak or analyze issues in a particular way.
