Contractor to work on Mazabuka by pass found

Mazabuka Town clerk Wisdom Bwalya has disclosed that a contractor to work on the Mazabuka by pass has been identified.

Mr. Bwalya says following the recent accidents that have occurred on the Mazabuka by pass, it was resolved that a lasting solution had to be found which has resulted in government awarding a contractor to work on a 5 kilometer stretch.

He explains that the stretch would be from the motel to the weigh bride citing that the contractor is likely to be on site soon.

Mr. Bwalya however points out that other stakeholders such as senior citizens and concerned citizens have opposed to the move citing that they want an alternative road and thus discussions are going on.

He adds that soon as the discussions are finalized, the contractor is likely to move on site and begin the works.

Mr. Bwalya further states that once the road is worked on, it will lessen on the accidents that are frequent in Mazabuka.
