Zesco United stretched their lead at the summit of the Faz Super League table from four to seven points after a 2-0 away win over Red Arrows at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

The win kept Zesco on course to retaining the Super League title with just nine matches left following their Week 21 victory over Arrows.

Saturday’s result also saw Zesco complete back-to-back league victories over Arrows for the first time since 2007.

A Winston Kalengo brace handed Zesco their second straight league win a week after their memorable 5-3 comeback home victory over Nkana in Ndola.

Kalengo put Zesco 1-0 ahead into the break when he skipped past Arrows defence in the 33rd minute.

The veteran striker completed his brace in the 86th minute to score his 11th league goal of the season and top the Super League charts to break away from Green Eagles’ Adamson Mulao who has 9 goals.

Zesco have 49 points, Zanaco are second on 42 tied with third placed Power Dynamos whom they have exchanged places with this weekend.

Meanwhile, Arrows drop from 6th to 7th on 29 points after Zesco ended their five-match unbeaten run since losing 1-0 away to Power Dynamos o July 6.
